Porcelain Pitcher With Fine Handle And High 18th Century
Tender porcelain pitcher with thin, high handle
Hand-painted decoration of floral motifs, accompanied by delicate gilded insect representations, with gilded fillets at the neck and base.
The detail (more slightly translucent texture, fineness of paste, light floral decoration and use of gilding) of piece corresponds to a production of the late XVIIIᵉ century or early XIXᵉ century (circa 1780-1820), a period during which soft porcelain was still widely used in some European manufactures.
