Japanese porcelain plate, Imari (Arita) production, circa 1780. Underglaze cobalt blue painted decoration depicting stylized floral motifs with sinuous foliage (Wisteria). Asymmetrical composition on a white background. Plain circular rim. Very good condition; note minor firing irregularities consistent with the period. Diameter 29 cm, Thickness 5.5 cm.
