19th Century Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Vase
Japanese cloisonné enamel vase – Decorative work of art. Created using a meticulous technique of separating colored areas with thin metal partitions, it features a remarkably rich and precise decoration.
The color palette is composed of rich and deep tones (brown, gold, emerald green, bright blue). The vase has a deep brown background enhanced with stylized floral and foliate motifs in gold, green, and blue tones. On the lower part, a mythical bird—a phoenix, symbol of renewal and immortality—gracefully spreads its colorful wings, bringing a touch of life and movement to the whole.
Combining elegance, symbolism, and technical mastery, this vase perfectly illustrates the tradition of Japanese cloisonné, an art that reached its peak in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This is most likely a Nagoya cloisonné piece, in the tradition of renowned workshops like Ando Jubei. Signed underneath.
