, Sideboard Stamped Henry Dasson
Superb marquetry dresser, stamped Henry Dasson 1883. One of the greatest Parisian cabinetmakers of the 19th century.
This richly ornamented, curved-shaped sideboard rests on arched legs terminating in finely chased ormolu sabots. The front features precious wood floral marquetry, centered on a flowering vase resting on an entablature.
The side panels are decorated with an elegant inlaid trellis, framed by gilded bronzes with exquisite rocaille decoration. The uprights are also adorned with ormolu falls.
The top is griotte red marble in perfect condition.

Stamped on the back Henry Dasson 1883
Henry Dasson (1825-1896), a leading Parisian cabinetmaker active in the second half of the 19th century. Successor to Charles Winckelsen's workshop from 1871, Dasson quickly established himself as one of the leading specialists in the reproduction of 18th-century furniture, working for a prestigious clientele in France and abroad. He took part in the 1878 Exposition Universelle, where he was awarded a medal for the exceptional quality of his creations.
