Maison Mottheau:
Maison Mottheau, or Mottheau et Fils, was a renowned French house in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, specializing in the production of art bronzes, luxury lighting, and period furniture decoration. The house was known for the manufacture of high-quality gilt bronzes, intended to adorn furniture, wall sconces, candlesticks, and chandeliers. Its work was strongly inspired by 18th-century French styles, particularly the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, with rocaille motifs, foliage, shells, and other refined ornaments. She collaborated with renowned cabinetmakers, creating sumptuous furniture where precious wood and marquetry were enhanced by finely chiseled bronze mounts. Maison Mottheau participated in numerous universal exhibitions, notably that of Paris in 1900, where it was distinguished for the excellence of its artistic and technical creations. Its clients included French and international elites, seeking luxurious works in the style of the past, but made with modern know-how.
