Corozo Nut Bottle, Napoleonic Period - France - Early 19th Century
Small carved corozo (plant ivory) bottle, flattened form, dating from the early 19th century, Napoleonic period, circa 1800. One side features a male profile wearing a laurel wreath, evoking classical imperial iconography. The reverse features a relief decoration of crossed musical instruments. Turned stopper in light-colored material (probably bone or ivory). Finely chased work, testifying to meticulous craftsmanship.
