Nasrid Damascened Dagger Fabrica Toledo Spain 19th Century
Gold and silver damascened Spanish dagger from the Real Fábrica de Armas de Toledo, 19th century, in an elegant Nasrid style inspired by the art of the Alhambra in Granada.
Fine etched blade, damascened hilt and pommel.
Several cartouches with the inscription "لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّٰهُ" (Chahada) "There is no divinity but God"
Official marking at the base of the blade: "FABRICA TOLEDO"
Original scabbard fully damascened in the same Nasrid style with a superb interlaced CVA monogram in gold and silver (piece made to order).
This piece perfectly reflects the 19th-century Orientalist infatuation with the Hispano-Moorish heritage and Nasrid art of Granada.
High-quality workmanship, some slight wear to the damascene.
