Kabyle Saber, Known As A "flissa" - Algeria, Kabylie, Second Half Of The 19th Century To Early 20th Century

Kabyle saber known as a “flissa” — Algeria, Kabylie, second half of the 19th century to early 20th century

Hilt covered with chiseled brass plates.

Single-edged blade, engraved and damascened with brass.

Scabbard with two carved wooden struts held in place by two steel rings.

I believe one or two additional rings are missing from the scabbard, though this does not affect its structural integrity.
Minor damage to the wood of the scabbard and a few old holes from wood-boring insects.
