Reliquary frame decorated with coral and gold-tinted paperolles surrounding a large oval "Agnus Déi" (Lamb of God).
This wax depicting the Paschal Lamb carrying the cross and banner resting on the sacred book was one of the objects blessed by the pope and distributed to the faithful as objects of worship and protection.
The papal shield with shield and cross is visible in the lower part of the wax.
This is a Napoleon III period object, so it was probably made under the pontificate of Pius IX.
This object is presented in its original 19th-century gilded and stuccoed wood frame protected by glass.
The wax in the center may be older, but it is difficult to read the inscribed characters with certainty.
