19th-century Mughal Jade Dagger Handle
A dagger hilt made of white-green jadeite, decorated with floral engravings, leaves, scrolls, and other floral motifs. Two slight rust spots are visible. The first, located at the center of the flowers, was used to hold the blade, while the second, situated within the spiral, may have been designed to accommodate a precious metal ornament. Mughal India, early 19th century.
