Indo-persian Copper Basin Chased With Chitals, 19th Century, Very Good Collector's Condition

Oriental basin in engraved copper, formerly tin-plated.
Of Indo-Persian origin, this object dates from the 19th century.
This piece is decorated on all sides with fifteen domed mandorls.
These medallions bear decorations of chitals, the common Persian name for the axis deer.
Two friezes feature the same animal in the decoration, separated by S friezes;

The Cerf axis or Chital is a deer that occurs naturally in the woodlands of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
It has been introduced into Central Europe, the former Yugoslavia, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Texas and Hawaii.
Other very fine chitals are chiseled into headbands and trellis friezes.

The set is in very good condition.
