Pair Of Paris Porcelain And Gilt Bronze Cassolettes Napoleon III Period .
Pair of Paris porcelain and gilt bronze cassolettes
Napoleon III period
Elegant pair of Paris porcelain cassolettes, finely mounted in gilded bronze, exquisitely illustrating the decorative taste of the Second Empire.
The bowls, with their deep celestial blue backgrounds, are adorned in their centers with delicate hand-painted galant scenes inspired by 18th-century iconography. These compositions, of great finesse of execution, are framed by gilded friezes in fine gold, subtly underlining the chromatic richness and quality of the decoration.
The finely chased gilded bronze mounts feature meticulous decorative work: circular bases decorated with gadroons and pearled friezes, shafts adorned with porcelain floral reserves, embellished with garlands enrubannée in gilded bronze, bringing relief and elegance to the whole.
The balance of the proportions, the quality of the gilding and the finesse of the paintings give these pieces a remarkable decorative presence, ideal for showcasing on a mantelpiece, console or display case.
Very fine condition, with a particularly attractive presentation.
A refined, luminous pair, representative of the savoir-faire of 19th-century Parisian ateliers.
