Wonderful Khamiya from Morocco. This precious object has just been appraised. We learned several interesting things. It's actually a fragment. The piece has probably been transformed to make a cushion, if we consider the size, the seams and the opening on the back.
Originally, this type of piece measures around 2 meters by 80 cm wide. Only the lower part is embroidered, usually with floral motifs. Most often monochrome, with different tones around the same hue. This is the particularity of this object, with its diversity of colors and rich palette.
This is wild silk. The ultra-thin backing features a series of refined floral motifs that shimmer in the light. The face is needle-embroidered with a rich composition of multicolored floral motifs.
The hues are luminous and deep, the harmony perfect. We're in the registe of seduction and refinement.
I think this is an item to be framed.
Excellent condition, only a little missing on one of the lower parts braided in fishnet.
