Embroidered Prosperity Wish, Ottoman
Velvet, silver thread, a great deal of dexterity and patience for this young Anatolian woman, no doubt, who created this wall panel blessed by the gods. During the Ottoman era, these embroidered wall paintings were a sign of prosperity in the home. A basket, a bouquet from which a few ears of corn escape, a border of flowers, a magnificent harmony... a perfect object measuring 87cm x 57cm.
