"Tutsi Nesting Basket Set"
Called "agaseki" or "ibeseke" there, these delicate fiber baskets fashioned by noble Tutsi ladies bear witness to ancestral know-how: the technique of sewn coiling. Even the lightning bolt pattern called "umurenzi" must respect the canons. They are magnificent, from the smallest, barely 5cm high and proud of its three centimeters of wingspan, to the largest, which stands proud with its measurements of 20x11.5 cm. Poignant objects in the face of History and the turpitudes they have experienced in Rwanda... moreover, one of the cones has lost a few strands...
