Beautiful hand-knotted wool Oriental prayer rug featuring a traditional decoration organized around a stylized mihrab. The deep red central field is framed by geometric motifs characteristic of Central Asian tribal productions.
The upper part features stylized architectural decoration evoking niches, typical of prayer rugs. The main border features geometric decoration on a dark background.
The ensemble offers beautiful shades of red, black and ivory and features authentic Afghan workmanship. The bangs are preserved and the wool has a beautiful patina.
