Sofreh made in Cappadocia, central Turkey, wool, circa 1970–80. Very good condition. The securing stitches have been restored in our workshop.
A striking sofreh made using the “souf” technique: knotted stitches and kilim. A large medallion and two colorful bands (green, orange, red, blue), featuring knotted stitches, stand out against a salmon-colored kilim with abraché*.
A unique piece that can be placed on the floor or hung on the wall.
*Abrache: a term referring to variations in shades within the same color.
