Pair Of Support Brackets Or Beam Noses, Patinated Terracotta From Castelnaudary, 18th Century
Artist: Atelier De Castelnaudary
A very fine pair of corbel vault noses, which may or may not be integrated with light-colored, weathered terracotta from Castelnaudary in the classic Louis XVI style. These large architectural elements are remarkably rich and elegant; in my opinion, they were placed face to face at the top of the entrance under the timpan mantle. Placed recessed in the wall, the simple square section in the masonry is an ornamental and highly decorative element in the classical style. Thick and at the same time hand-crafted pieces, they can be integrated in a variety of ways, offering a varied range of uses, through the finesse and balance of their ornamentation, where a feeling of power emerges; important pieces that only a famous factory like Castenaudary, which used light clay and knew how to master the firing process, can offer. In addition, these pieces come from a château in the Albigeois region and were given to me by a friend. For lovers of beauty and authenticity...
