Antique Louis XVI Era Writing Desk, Lombardy (italy), 18th Century.

Antique Lombard centerpiece writing desk made of fine woods, dating back to the second half of the 18th century.

The top features a geometric design surrounded by polychrome inlays along the entire edge.

The band beneath the top incorporates a drawer that can be pulled out with gilded bronze rings and is highlighted by a dense festoon inlay with a central medallion that is repeated around the entire perimeter.

The four legs have the classic inverted truncated pyramid shape with a geometric inlay at the center and are topped with gilded bronze spheres.

Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using the traditional shellac and alcohol hand-applied method.
