House Forest - Louis XVI Style Mahogany & Bronze Flat Desk

Louis XVI style mahogany flat desk and middle desk. It rests on four spindle legs decorated with gilded bronzes. This desk has three opening drawers on the front and, on the other side, three false drawers. Two zippers on either side complete the set. Brown leather upper in good condition. Office signed "Meublements FOREST - 31 rue Cambacérès * 17 rue La Boëtie - PARIS". French work of very good quality.

His furniture, judged to be of high quality, both for the cabinetwork with its refined decoration and for its gilded bronze frames, earned him numerous awards. Maison Forest exhibited at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893.
