A sumptuous sterling silver Georgian (George III) lidded  beer mug or tankard of the highest quality, made by Thomas Wallis I , hallmarked in London in 1763. The domed, hinged lid has a scroll-shaped handle and an S-shaped handle ending in a heart. This is an excellent example in very good condition. The hallmarks are very legible: London guarantee hallmark, letter date for 1767, Thomas Wallis I master goldsmith hallmark.
