Table Hunting Guns By Arquebusier Colnot In Vienna Austria
Beautiful late 18th or early 19th century flintlock rifle converted to percussion probably around 1840.
Damascus barrel with gold and silver inlay, nice dead leaf tanning .
Marked in stylized script CANON COLNOT DAMAFSES IN WIEN .
Length 73 cm inner caliber 15,5mn .
All fittings chased and bronzed "tabac" color;
Both locks chased COLNOT IN WIEN.
Pretty wood with a sculture of a swan's head with Mother-of-Pearl inlay.
Nice checkering on the grip .
The wood is good condition to pointed out a visible felure on the photos .
Wand present with are brass tip
Some pitting around the mantels and on the barrel
COLNOT philipp came after his apprenticeship in 1800, received master in 1803. He was four years old in 1812 and died in 1816, his wife continued to work until 1817.
