Beautifully sized oval-shaped reliquary, presented under glass, with rich decoration of gilded paperolles and metallic threads on a red textile background.
Description
In the center is a major relic identified by handwritten inscription "Ex Ligno S.S. Crucis D.N.", corresponding to a fragment of the True Cross of Our Lord.
Around, in radiating composition, 6 saintly relics are carefully arranged in frames of cut and handwritten paper. They include:
- Saint Andrew the Apostle (S. Andreae Ap.)
- Saint Anne (S. Annae)
- Maria
- Saint Zenobii
- Saint Joseph (S. Josephi)
- Saint Francis (S. Francisci)
The ensemble displays typical 18th-century workmanship, characterized by a symmetrical layout, finely executed paperolle decoration and a devotional presentation centered on the relic of the Holy Cross.
Metal mount with hanging bracket.
Condition
Some minor age-related wear and alterations, without affecting the main legibility.
