Cavalry officer's saber, circa 1770, LOUIS XVI- Révolution - 1 Er Empire period.
Melted and gilded brass frame with cap and line decoration. Stepped riveting knob and long tail.
Gilding of the brass parts partly disappeared due to use and age.
Fusée sheathed in black basane with triple filigree in chainette and suite.
Single Allemande jointing bow, widened near the cap and arriving at right angles on the crosier.
Crossbars with truncated baguette pommels ending in a button quillon.
Curved blade with nickel-plated finish with hollow pan and flat back, with no visible hallmark or marking.
Added leather grapple and small shock on the sting.
Black leather scabbard with three brace-cut gilt brass fittings and 2 suspension rings.
Long bolt with asymmetrical 25.5 cm stinger
Chappe 12.5 cm long.

Blade width at heel: 2.4 cm
