Light Cavalry Officer's Saber Model An IX (1800-1801) - Consulate
Light cavalry officer's saber, Model AN IX (1800-1801), Consulate period; Chasseur-style hilt with one main branch and two secondary branches outlined in lines, and shuttle-shaped quillons. Wooden grip covered in leather and decorated with twisted copper wire. Pommel with a long tail and a recurved quillon. Stained curved blade with fullers and a flat back, with a single cutting edge and a pointed false edge. Remnant of the monogram "GG" on the blade at the ricasso. Metal scabbard with two bands and suspension rings outlined in lines; the scabbard is stained and shows signs of wear. Length: 102 cm. Length without scabbard: 95 cm. Blade length: 82 cm. Blade width at the ricasso: 3.5 cm. False edge length: 17.5 cm. Good condition, showing its original patina. See photos for details. Free shipping within France.
