Hungarian horse hunter sabre, Bavarian from the period "Carl Theodor" before 1798, corresponding to the period in France of "LOUIS XVI." Basane knuckle, handle cap with scoop and long tail with rivet button. Right-angled joint arc with brass diamond-shaped ear crosspiece. Straight quillon ending in a ring. Curved blade with flat back with 1 drosal fuller and 1 cutting edge and counter-cutting edge in point of 15 cm. Blade bearing engraving on both sides at the height of the 1st third at the heel, of a floral motif, inscription "VIVAT" & a monogram "JC" surmounted by a crown. Under the quillon, the Alchemical sign of Silver, symbol of fidelity and purity. Leather scabbard with 2 brass fittings.
