Artillery General's sword, Restoration period, Louis XVIII (1814-1830). Gilt cast brass hilt. Chiseled pommel depicting the bust of Athena wearing a helmet in a medallion. Fully decorated knuckle guard with a small flower in the center and thunderbolts on either side. Kidney-shaped pommel with a central motif of crossed cannons superimposed on a howitzer with cannonballs of various calibers, a powder keg, and a match. The whole on a sandblasted background. Small counter-key decorated with stylized foliage. Quillon adorned with a flaming grenade on the outer face. Wooden grip entirely filigreed with copper wire and chain. Scarlet cloth blade guard present. Straight white double-edged blade with a central ridge. Traces of a signature at the ricasso "Coulaux et Ainé". Black leather scabbard with two gilt brass mounts, the chape button decorated with a helmet and the chape chased with grooves. The leather of the scabbard was restored at some point.
