Of violonnée form, this mirror features a remarkable openwork decoration in carved and gilded wood, richly decorated with garlands of flowers, scrolls and acanthus leaves, characteristic of the Louis XV style.
The quality of the carving, the finesse of the ajours as well as the richness of the gilding testify to the expertise of Italian, and particularly Venetian, workshops in the 18th century.
