Pair of Cabriolet-Style Wingback Chairs – Louis XV Style – Carved and Painted Beech – French Craftsmanship, 19th Century
An elegant pair of cabriolet-style wingback chairs with wavy-backed seats, crafted from molded, carved, and painted beech. This beautiful French piece, likely from Paris, reflects the Louis XV style and dates from the 19th century.
The upper crossbar is finely carved with a delicate floral motif. The scalloped crossbars, richly molded, harmonize perfectly with the curved legs adorned with flowers—a hallmark of high-quality Parisian craftsmanship. The armrests feature a supple and graceful curve, lending the pieces the elegance characteristic of the Louis XV style.
Both armchairs have undergone a complete restoration in accordance with traditional craftsmanship. The upholstery has been entirely refurbished, and the reupholstery was done using a magnificent fabric from Frey, combining refinement, comfort, and quality.
The frame is in perfect condition and very sturdy.
A particularly decorative pair of armchairs, ideal for a classic interior, a home with character, or to add a touch of timeless elegance to a contemporary setting.
