18th Century Marquetry Corner Cabinet, Louis XVI Style

Elegant corner cabinet, dating from the second half of the 18th century.

The curved front opens with two doors entirely decorated with a finely executed geometric marquetry. The design, built around radiating star motifs and interlocking diamonds, reveals a strong sense of balance and composition. The warm contrasts of the veneers enhance the striking visual impact.

This type of decoration, both structured and ornamental, is characteristic of the late 18th century, at the transition between Louis XV and Louis XVI styles.

The cabinet stands on small shaped feet, with a refined continuation of marquetry on the lower section, creating a cohesive overall design.

Later grey marble top, well fitted. Please note two old restorations (broken and re-glued), visible but stable.
