Antonio Piatti, 1875-1960, Italian painter, son of sculptor Domenico Piatti. He was introduced to sculpture by his father at an early age, working in the family studio from the age of twelve. He then perfected his skills with Leonardo Bistolfi in Turin, before turning to painting. At 17, he enrolled at the drawing school of the Technical Institute in Cuneo, where his family had moved, attending classes in Brera as a pupil of Cesare Tallone. While still a student, in 1901 he took part in the first art exhibition in Varese, winning a silver medal in Turin. In 1903, he won the national painting prize at the Brera Biennale. He spent several months in Paris to deepen his knowledge of the artistic environment and trends. In 1904, he won the Pensionato Oggioni scholarship, which enabled him to study in Rome for two years. He then took part in all the major exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and distinguished himself for 16 years at the Venice Biennales.
Initially oriented towards historical and genre painting, he later turned to portraiture and landscape. The portrait of composer Pietro Mascagni is kept at the Teatro della Scala Museum. Works in the Museums of Como, Milan, Padua and Undine. Artist listed in Bénézit, Coté Artprice, Artnet, Akoun...

This canvas, originally marouflaged on cardboard, is in very good condition.
The painting, never cleaned, not dirty, is in good condition, neither repainted nor repaired, nothing stands out in U.V.
In a more recent frame in very good condition.
