Italian Ex-voto From The 18th Century -
Among them, we find Saint Anthony of Padua, recognizable by his Franciscan habit and fleur-de-lis, and Saint Apollonia, identifiable by the pincers, an attribute of her martyrdom. A third saint, holding a palm, completes the scene and symbolizes the figure of the martyr.
The partial inscription visible at the bottom left, “G.R.”, refers to the Italian phrase “Grazia Ricevuta” (grace received), characteristic of these votive works offered in gratitude for a favor granted.
