Kadai, Japanese Lacquered Tray From Tsugaru - Japan
Carved and lacquered wooden tray in the Tsugaru style. This tray is a kadai, typically used in ikebana for displaying lacquered floral arrangements and their vases. It will beautifully showcase the objects displayed on it. There are small chips in the lacquer on the feet, but these are not at all noticeable when the kadai is in use. Japan, circa 1960, 40 x 30 x 10 cm.
