French School, early 19th century, this painting depicts the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Oil on rectangular canvas, presented in a beautiful oval frame of gilded wood, finished with matte and burnished gold leaf. First half of the 19th century. The Catholic liturgical calendar celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (the Friday following Corpus Christi). A beautiful devotional object or traditional decorative piece for a private chapel. Excellent condition, frame cleaned by our gilder, very fine gilding. The painting is on its original canvas, never restored before this cleaning by our conservator. Very fresh colors. Width: 69cm (63cm) Height: 86cm (70cm)
