Fragments Maffrash Shahsaven. Persian. Circa 1900. 50 X 40 Cm (x2)
Magnificent pair of Shahsaven Maffrash fragments originating from Persia. Maffrash are part of the family of everyday objects used by the nomadic populations of Persia and the Caucasus. They formed the largest satchels or carrying cases. These two fragments comprised the two small panels facing each other. Embroidery technique on a woven wool-on-wool structure. Very beautiful, ultra-luminous, plant-based dyes. Here we offer a pair; it is rare to find them in this condition. Circa 1900. Dimensions: 50 x 40 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
