Pierre Jean François Turpin was a French botanist and illustrator. He is considered one of the greatest botanical illustrators of the Napoleonic era. Turpin is responsible for some of the most beautiful existing watercolors and illustrations of plants. Large and beautiful drawing of a water lily. Signed lower left. Two restored tears in the right margin that do not affect the drawing. An undeciphered inscription to the left of the flower. Annotation on the verso: M Delile no. 161.
