Arthur Gué, born into a family from Poitiers, succeeded his father ashead of a chromolithography company, which he soldin 1903 to study under Luigi-Loir in Paris.
In 1906, he made his debutat the Salon des Artistes Français, where he immediately received anhonorable mention.
In 1910, the GalerieGeorges Petit organized his first solo exhibition. In1913, the same gallery dedicated another exhibition to him.
His successenabled him to join the Society of Mountain Painters, theWinter Salon, and the International Society of Watercolorists.
Unsigned, bears the studio sale stamp on the reverse as well as a note on the bevel of the panel: “supplies 1911”
