Pastel on vellum depicting the portrait of a young noblewoman, a marquise or countess, richly dressed in the fashion of Louis XV: a silk gown adorned with flowers, including roses, a necklace of pink and blue flowers, and powdered hair styled in small curls. She is shown with her pet dog. The delicate colors, in shades of pink and blue, are very fresh. I haven't opened this pastel, but by observing the right side, one can see that it is done on vellum, a support widely used in the 18th century. This pastel is unsigned, but the quality and finesse of execution are remarkable. A charming and highly decorative painting, ideal for an elegant and refined interior.
