Henri Martin (1810–1883) was a 19th-century French historian, essayist, novelist, and politician. He is best known for his major work, "Histoire de France," a monumental 15-volume history of France. He also served as mayor of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, a member of parliament, a senator, and a member of the Académie Française. Charles Reutlinger (1816-1888) was a photographer specializing in portraits of Parisian personalities.
