Round Cut Crystal Baccarat Crystal-ceramic Box, Virgin And Child, 19th Century
A round cut crystal box, most likely by Baccarat, with a metal mount, adorned with a crystal-ceramic* on the lid depicting the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus standing beside her against a background of clouds, dating from the 19th century. This box is in good condition and of high quality. Please note: a small dent and deformation on the mount (see red arrow), soiling, scratches, micro-chips, and signs of age, see photos. *Crystal-ceramic is a glass decoration technique that was created towards the end of the 19th century. It consists of incorporating a ceramic cameo, which has been molded and then finely hand-carved, into a crystal object.
