Musket And Bayonet By E. Baker & Son
An exceptional Ezekiel Baker & Son musket, complete with its original socket bayonet. Smoothbore .700 caliber (39 1/4 inches) barrel with front sight. Maker's mark "Ezekiel Baker & Son, Armourers to Her Majesty" on the breech. Private and proof marks on the right and Birmingham proof marks and proof marks on the left. Rounded lock with precise mechanics, featuring a skeletonized hammer secured by a patented screw and a semi-watertight pan. Solid walnut stock with "Baker" pistol grip and regulation brass fittings. Original steel ramrod. The steel socket bayonet, in excellent condition (blueing of the retaining spring visible), is stored in its black lacquered scabbard. Overall length: approximately 140.3 cm.
