An elegant cast iron crucifix in the Neo-Gothic style, a 19th-century German work typical of the so-called "Berliner Eisen" production. The crucifix is beautifully sculpted, with a naturalistic treatment of the body and finely rendered drapery. The architecturally structured cross is fully in keeping with the Neo-Gothic style, with its openwork motifs and slender lines. The whole rests on a long, slender shaft ending in a molded polygonal base, adorned with panels featuring raised Gothic decoration, reinforcing the Gothic character of the piece.
