Mechanical Brass Bloodletting Tool/fleam - English - 19th Century
A small, rectangular, mechanical bloodletting device made of brass, equipped with a steel lever and an internal spring mechanism. The top features a knurled adjustment knob and a slot for winding the lever. The sides have tension knobs, and the base is closed by a perforated plate revealing the internal mechanism. This instrument was used in the 19th century for performing quick and controlled bloodletting, primarily in human and veterinary medicine. This type of model was particularly common in England.
