"Fully Embroidered Kilim. Shahsaven / Persia. Circa 1880. 152 X 110 Cm"
Of rare beauty, an elegant and refined Shahsaven kilim originating from Persia. The work is considerable; the entire surface of the piece is embroidered. The weaver uses a second weft thread to create the raised patterns. As seen in the photos, this piece is composed of two panels joined and sewn together. This is a distinctive feature of antique pieces, as the formerly nomadic populations only had small, easily transportable looms. On one end, the fringes are remarkable and braided in a net-like pattern. Beauty often lies in the details. Dyes are exclusively plant-based and of incredible freshness. The object is simply delightful. Circa 1880. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 152 x 110 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
