Creation resulting from the religious craft of the end of the XIXth century, this large stoup in old cast iron is of baroque style, framed from side to side with acanthus leaves rolled up in a style close to that of Louis XIV.
At its center is a Marian representation of the Holy Virgin dressed in the veil, the crown and the large rosary, titled on its base "N. D. LOURDES". It has a back ring to hang on the wall.
As you will have understood, this stoup was made during or after the period of the Second Empire, sold in religious shops as a pilgrimage souvenir for believers who went to Lourdes in the 19th century.
In good general condition, the stoup is pierced, its patinated appearance makes its authenticity and charm, perfect for outdoor decoration or a collection of ancient religious objects.
