The origin of these spurs is, of course, the Ottoman Empire, and the style of manufacture places them before the 19th century. At the very least, they date from the 18th century, and are probably even significantly older for the metal parts.
The section surrounding the heel is made of iron with a small silver decoration. This section is 8.5 cm wide.
The point begins with a cone made up of eight prongs. This type of mounting is very old (16th-17th centuries). It is no longer seen from the last quarter of the 18th century onward, when it is systematically replaced by a ball. This feature therefore confirms the age of these objects.
The points are curved, decorated with silver inlays, and end in a hook, unlike models from the second half of the 19th century which generally end in a sharp point. Point length: Without the cone = 16 cm, from the stirrup body = 21 cm.
This pair is in its original, unrestored condition. It will be a centerpiece in a collection related to equestrian art. Total length 32 cm excluding the textile parts .
Shipping costs: France €20, Europe €30.
