In an octavo volume, bound in full tinted calf with a raised bands and a brown morocco title, this celebrated book of books, in its original edition, although the title page has been photocopied, is nonetheless a rare masterpiece with consistently high prices. This working copy, printed in Amsterdam by Marc Michel Rey in 1755, is particularly appealing with its two-color title page and the famous frontispiece and vignette above the title page: "Discourse on the Origin and Foundations of Inequality Among Men. By Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Citizen of Geneva..."
