Charming all-sided lounge cabinet in rosewood marquetry with ebony and lemon inlays. Three drawers on the front with sheath feet entirely decorated with faux cannelures, drawers framed with chevron fillets, top drawer decorated with faux cannelures on all three sides also embellished with chevron fillets, top edged with a compass rose in the center surrounded by a fillet border of small squares, recessed corners, bronze knobs with flanges. Brfe this pretty piece of furniture in warm tones could be placed in the middle of a room, visible from everywhere, it is elegant, light and resplendent, varnished with a period stamp and well preserved. From the reign of Louis XVI, provincial work circa 1780.
