Artist: M. Barthe / M. D'arnaud
A rare and beautiful copy of royal provenance from the Tuileries Palace, bearing the Grand Arms of Louis XV on the covers; bound in red morocco with raised bands, decorated with gilt fleur-de-lis tools, red morocco title, covers with framing dentelles, marbled endpapers, and red edges. The works were compiled by M. Barthe and M. d'Arnaud in 1765 in Paris and Amsterdam. The book includes "Letters from the Abbot of Rancé to a Friend," written from his Trappist Abbey, and "The Unhappy Lovers, or the Count of Comminges, a Drama." These works are illustrated with figures, tailpieces, and vignettes, a magnificent composite work of pieces from the time of Louis XV, originating from his rich library.
