Charming Inlaid Cylinder Desk, Ornamented, 18th Century, Louis XV Louis XVI Transition Style
Artist: Non Signé
Rare and elegant cylinder desk from the Transition period Louis XV/Louis XVI, from the second half of the 18th century, Parisian assembly (with oak drawers), decorated with Greek frames and a motif of musical attributes and flowers. It is all-sided and deserves a centerpiece. With careful and ornamental marquetry in satin rosewood, rosewood and lemon tree, it is of reduced and harmonious proportions, the arched legs of Louis XV, and the whiplash of the belt of two side drawers in box and a central drawer. The top is covered with its black leather with a delicately worn frieze of the period and the part closed by the cylinder offers a gallery with four drawers delicately ornamented in frames, a low niche and one in its center in the gallery. Decorated with bronze buttons, lock entries and opulent surrounding sabots. The argued cylinder of musical instruments or the violin holds its central place on either side of the flowered sprays in a beautiful Greek frame, mainly light lemon tree (nets) and yellow wood. A natural piece not touched a small revision will be carried out before delivery, because it is natural as it came out of a castle of the Tarn. Elegant as desired this beautiful period piece easy to place has all the assets of a beautiful classic decoration worthy of the century of enlightenment
